McGUFFEY — Despite the soggy and cold conditions on Friday night, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams football team ended its season on a high note, taking down Hardin County rival Hardin Northern, 38-12. The Rams conclude their 2017 campaign at 4-6 overall, 3-4 in the Northwest Central Conference. The Polar Bears end the year at 3-7, 2-5.

ADA — The Ada Bulldogs did all they could to keep their football playoff hopes alive Friday night with a 41-0 victory over Allen East in the cold, wind and rain. The win gives the Bulldogs a third place finish in the Northwest Conference, ending the regular season with a mark of 7-3 overall, 5-2 in the NWC. Allen East, meanwhile, concluded the year at 2-8, 1-6.

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Mistakes in the form of fumbles were too much for Riverdale to overcome. As steady rain fell from the sky on a cold and blistery night, the Falcons fumbled the ball six times – three of them resulting in turnovers – as they lost 12-6 in heartbreaking fashion to Blanchard Valley Conference foe Hopewell-Loudon on Friday, concluding the regular season for both teams.

BELLEFONTAINE — Kale Schoffner had a two-yard touchdown run and Clay Jacobs had a 14-yard touchdown pass to Connor Dixon as Indian Lake defeated Ben Logan 14-6 in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division football clash Friday night.

ELIDA — The Kenton boys soccer team threw everything it had at Elida during the first half of the boys Division II district final contest between the Western Buckeye League rivals on Thursday night. The Wildcats ran out of steam in the second half however as the host Bulldogs pulled out a 2-0 win to advance to next week’s regional tournament.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale girls were hoping to make a return appearance as a team at the Division III regional cross country meet in Tiffin on Saturday morning. That didn’t work out for the Lady Falcons as they finished fifth as a group at last Saturday’s district meet at Owens Community College - one spot short of the top four they needed to advance.
