ELIDA — The Kenton soccer team will get the rematch with Elida that it has been seeking. The Wildcats rallied from a 1-0 deficit on Monday, as pushes toward the net by Hayden Hicks in the second 40 minutes led to a penalty kick goal and an own goal by a Shawnee defender that allowed Kenton to pull out a 2-1 win over the Indians in district semifinal action at Elida.

BROOKVILLE — The Ben Logan volleyball team advanced in tournament play on Saturday, topping Urbana 25-14, 25-15, 25-11 in a sectional semifinal matchup. The Raiders, 19-5 on the season, will play Anna for a sectional title at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

OTTAWA — Competing in the regional cross country meet in Tiffin is becoming something of a norm for Upper Scioto Valley junior Brady Hipsher. The Ram junior advanced to regional competition for the third year in a row on Saturday on when he finished ninth out of 89 runners in the Division III District 1 meet at Ottawa Park.

FINDLAY — The Riverdale girls came up one spot short of advancing to the regional meet for the second consecutive year as a team in Division III competition at Owens Commnuity College, finishing in fifth with 126 points. However, a pair of Lady Falcons, sisters Juleigha and Kendra Collier, will be running in the girls Division III race at Tiffin on Saturday.

CEDARVILLE — The Ben Logan boys cross country team was of 11th of 21 teams with 247 points in the Division II boys cross country district meet in Cedarville on Saturday. Jake Henman was Ben Logan’s top runner, finishing 29th of 157 runners in 17:47.2.

MANSFIELD — Ada lost to Mansfield Christian 3-0 in a boys soccer sectional final matchup on Saturday. The Bulldogs finish their season with a 12-6 record.

TOLEDO — Host Toledo Central Catholic topped Kenton 25-9, 25-6, 25-8 in sectional final volleyball action on Saturday. The No. 7 seeded Wildcats finish their season at 8-15.

In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of Nick Zachariah, Spencer Vermillion, Duane Spencer, Bob Walls and Paige Wallace leads the way with a 33 under par. The team of John McEntee, Dean Brim, Wayne Moon, Mike Wood and Jeff Butcher is second at 32 under par and the quintet of Brad Hanna, Mike Fink, Steve Benson and Joni Rensing is third at 31-under.

ELIDA — After falling behind 21-0 in the first quarter, the Kenton football team made play after play after play to put itself in a position for a victory in the fourth quarter on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, after they took the lead, quarterback Isaac McAdams regained his form guiding the Bulldogs on the go-ahead touchdown lead and their defense shut down Kenton’s offense in the final two minutes as Elida pulled out a 51-50 victory over Kenton.

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan looked set to take an 8-7 lead into halftime against Urbana on Friday night, but a last-second 47-yard touchdown pass from the Hillclimbers changed that. First ruled incomplete, the call was changed to a touchdown as time in the half expired.
