WAYNESFIELD — The Upper Scioto Valley defense shut down Waynesfield-Goshen as the Rams rolled to a 32-0 victory its their Northwest Central Conference football opener on Friday night. The Rams improve to 2-2 overall, 1-0 in the NWCC. Waynesfield-Goshen falls to 1-3, 0-1.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Juleigha Collier crossed the finish line fifth of 77 runners to lead the host Lady Falcons to fourth place in the eight-team Riverdale Invitational on Thursday afternoon. Collier finished in a time of 22:22.25, which was just a second behind fourth place finisher Emma Steingass of Sylvania Northview.

DOLA — Hardin Northern wasted little time taking control against Ridgemont on Thursday as the Polar Bears cruised to a 25-13, 25-14, 25-16 victory over the Gophers in Northwest Central conference volleyball action. Hardin Northern improves to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in NWCC play, while Ridgemont is now 3-4 and 1-2.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Chris Reyes had three goals and Logan Williams added a goal and an assist as Ada blanked Upper Sandusky 4-0 in North Central Ohio Soccer Association play on Thursday.

LEWISTOWN — Ben Logan defeated Indian Lake 25-10, 25-14, 25-23 in a Central Buckeye Conference volleyball match on Thursday night.

FINDLAY — Van Buren edged Kenton by one stroke, 185-186, in a non-league golf match at Red Hawk Run on Thursday.

ST. MARYS — St. Marys defeated Kenton 4-0 in a Western Buckeye League girls soccer match on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats see their record drop to 3-2-2 overall and 0-2-1 in WBL play. St. Marys is 3-2-1 and 3-1. No other information was received about the game. Kenton hosts Van Wert on Tuesday.

ELIDA — The Kenton boys cross country team placed fifth out of 10 teams and the girls were fourth out of five teams at the Elida Invitational on Wednesday. Cymon Crowe placed 11th of the 96 total runners with a time of 18:53 to lead the Wildcats, while Joseph Piper also made it into the top 20 at 19th with a time of 19:27.

VAN BUREN — Taylor Bacon gave Riverdale the lead at halftime in its match against Van Buren, but the Falcons could not keep the Knights off the scoreboard in the second half as the hosts rallied for a 3-1 win in North Central Ohio Soccer Association play Thursday.

Riverdale was first and Ridgemont was second in a golf tri-match that included Calvary Christian at Memorial Park Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.
