LEXINGTON — Shots were not falling for Riverdale early, but eventually the Falcons got so many of them, they started going in and they ran away with a 53-25 victory against Fostoria in a Division III sectional semifinal Wednesday night at Lexington.

LIMA — Even though Upper Scioto Valley led Waynesfield-Goshen by 11 points at halftime of its Division IV sectional semifinal girls basketball contest at Bath High School on Wednesday night, the Rams did not feel good about how they played.

HARROD — Holly Wilson carried Hardin Northern offensively in the first quarter of its playoff opener Wednesday night. Marion Local adjusted in the second quarter, held the Polar Bears scoreless for the entire frame to open a big lead, and cruised to a 57-29 victory in a Division IV sectional semifinal.

WORTHINGTON — Kenton Middle School wrestler Noah Eikenbary won an Ohio Athletic Committee District title for the second year in a row Sunday. Eikenbary, seeded No. 1 at 172 pounds, pinned his first two opponents to reach the final.

SPENCERVILLE — Leading Shawnee by just two points late in the third quarter of a Division II girls basketball tournament game, Kenton went on a 13-1 run to extend the lead to 14. With just over half a quarter of play remaining, the Wildcats held on to grab a 50-37 win and advance to the DII sectional final against Western Buckeye League foe Bath.

LIMA — Ada and Ridgemont met in a regular-season girls basketball game three weeks ago and Ada dominated from early in the first quarter on in a 41-point Bulldog victory. The teams met again Tuesday in a first-round Division IV postseason game and it was a different story.

NEW CARLISLE — Ben Logan needed a fourth-quarter rally to force overtime and then went on to defeat Trotwood 67-60 on Tuesday in Division II girls playoff basketball. The Raiders (21-3) trailed 41-35 after three quarters, but outscored Trotwood 21-15 over the final eight minutes.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley will be selling presale tickets for the Feb. 23 boys basketball sectional playoff game between the Rams and Waynesfield-Goshen at Allen East High School. The game is scheduled to tip at 8 p.m. as the second game of the doubleheader and the presale ticket will be good for the first game as well.

LIMA — Ada held Temple Christian scoreless in the second quarter to open a big lead and cruise to a 63-38 nonconference boys basketball victory Tuesday night. The Bulldogs (11-10) led 14-11 after the first quarter and turned that into a 27-11 advantage at halftime.
