LIMA — The Kenton tennis team is guaranteed two top four finishers after the first day of the Western Buckeye League tournament on Thursday. Both No. 1 singles player Kyle Goodin and No. 2 player Kenji Kobayashi earned quarterfinal victories to advance to Saturday’s semifinals.

WAYNESFIELD — Modifieds take center stage this Saturday night at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The month of May will be welcomed with a full program of racing headlined by the Satellite Connections UMP Modifieds running for a $1,000 payday.

LIMA — Due to continued wet grounds, no drying time this week with low temperatures, the amount of rain this week, Limaland Motorsports Park has canceled racing for tonight. Racing returns on May 12 with the Modified Mayhem, featuring the K&N Modifieds, Bud Thunderstocks and the Star Lite Modifieds for their first ever visit to Limaland Motorsports Park.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic took advantage of two Riverdale errors and a passed ball to plate four runs in a 5-0 win over the Falcons in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons, who fall to 9-9 overall and 3-5 in the BVC, outhit the Viking 6-4 but were not able to push a run across the plate.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic put the game out of reach with a five-run fourth inning on the way to a 9-2 victory over Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball contest on Wednesday.

SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic scored five runs in the fifth inning to pull away for a 9-4 win over Ridgemont in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Wednesday. Lehman Catholic improved to 20-2 on the season and finishes NWCC play with a 14-0 mark.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan plated all of its runs in the second inning during a 5-2 Central Buckeye Conference baseball win over Kenton Ridge on Wednesday. Konner Caudill had a two-run double and Curtis Gadson had an RBI single to lead the Raiders, who finish the regular season at 16-8 overall and 8-5 in CBC play.

DEGRAFF — Riverside clinched a share of the Northwest Central Conference title with an 8-2 softball win over the Upper Scioto Valley on Wednesday.

DEGRAFF — Riverside outscored Upper Scioto Valley 5-3 in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Wednesday afternoon.

ADA — Fort Jennings scored five runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth frame on the way to a 16-2 non-conference baseball win over Ada on Wednesday.
