KHS boys edge Wapak, move to 8-0

WAPAKONETA — The Kenton boys soccer team remained unbeaten, holding off Wapakoneta 4-3 in Western Buckeye League action on Tuesday night. The Wildcats trailed 1-0 in the in the first half before Hayden Hicks scored the first of his two tallies off an assist from Landon Bartlett to knot the game going into halftime.

BL volleyball cruises to CBC win

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan swept Springfield Northwestern 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 in a Central Buckeye Conference match on Tuesday. The Raiders were paced by a balanced attack as Stanleigh Archer and Sarah VanDyke recorded 12 kills each and VanDyke added 4 blocks. Molly Vance came up with 7 kills and Avery Braun tallied 4 kills.

James leads Gophers in league golf dual

WAYNESFIELD — Waynesfield-Goshen topped Ridgemont 180-228 in a Northwest Conference dual meet at Prairie View Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon. Carson James carded a 48, recording one birdie and three pars, to lead the Gophers. Lynson Roof chipped in with a 53 and had one par. Waynesfield’s Jaden Maxwell fired a 43 to earn medalist honors.

Lady ‘Cats hang tough against Wapak

The host Kenton girls soccer team kept it close against unbeaten and state-ranked Wapakoneta for nearly 60 minutes. However the floodgates opened after Marissa Raney netted a goal with 21:26 left in the game to put the Redskins ahead by two goals and the visitors scored three more times in the final 20 minutes on the way to a 5-0 Western Buckeye League win.
