St. Marys outshoots Wildcats, 63-54

Kenton boys basketball coach Matt McCullough felt his team had a good chance to pick up its first Western Buckeye League win in 15 tries dating back to the 2014-15 season when St. Marys visited KHS on Friday night. But the Roughriders had other ideas as they put some space on the scoreboard between themselves and the Wildcats with a 10-3 second-quarter run and then held Kenton off the rest of the way for a 63-54 victory.

USV pulls away from Gophers in 2nd half

MOUNT VICTORY — Trading leads for much of the first half, Ridgemont and Upper Scioto Valley appeared to be headed for a shootout in boys basketball action Friday night. But after a stretch of a combined five three-pointers in-a-row from both sides, USV made an offensive adjustment and finished the half on an 11-0 run.

Red Devils gets last shot in against R’dale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The heavyweights traded their share of blows in Arlington’s 55-49 victory over Riverdale on Friday night. Noah Hough made 9 of 11 foul shots, scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Falcons (2-8, 0-5 Blanchard Valley Conference), but he was bested by Logan Speyer, who had seven boards with 18 points, including four big ones in the fourth quarter to help the Red Devils (4-5, 2-3 BVC) pull ahead on the road against a rival.

Graham outscores Raiders

ST. PARIS — Graham outscored Ben Logan in all four quarters on the way to a 62-38 Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball victory over the Raiders on Friday night. The host Falcons took a 20-12 lead after one quarter before stretching it to 29-17 at halftime and 49-27 after three quarters.

LTC tops Polar Bears

DOLA — Lima Temple Christian defeated Hardin Northern 57-49 in a Northwest Central Conference boys hardwood matchup on Friday night. The Polar Bears, who were paced by Zach Wilhelm’s 13 points and 5 rebounds, drop to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in NWCC play.
