ADA — A late rally by the Ohio Northern men's basketball team came up short as the Polar Bears fell to host Otterbein 60-50 Wednesday night.

The Bluffton girls were within striking distance of Kenton, trailing the Wildcats 44-41 midway through the fourth quarter on Tuesday night. The Lady Wildcats did not let it stay that way much longer though.

The Kenton boys and girls swim teams split a pair of dual matches with Upper Sandusky and Indian Lake on Tuesday night. The Wildcat girls defeated Indian Lake 72-11 and fell to Upper Sandusky 60-34.

COLDWATER — Jaron Sharp had 22 points and Thomas Phillips added 18 as Kenton held off Coldwater 63-59 in non-conference boys basketball action Tuesday night. The Wildcats, who also received 12 points from Hunter Phillips, led 22-7 after one quarter and 31-22 at halftime before Coldwater closed within 44-41 entering the fourth quarter.

LaRUE — Ridgemont avenged a loss from earlier in the season, edging Elgin 48-46 in a non-conference girls basketball game on Tuesday. Keegan McKee had 10 points and Jen Jordan added 12 to lead the Gophers, who improve to 8-3 overall.

HARROD — Upper Scioto Valley got off to a strong start outscoring host Allen East 32-14 in the first half on the way to a 60-40 non-conference girls basketball win Tuesday night. The Rams, who got a game-high 21 points, 7 assists and 7 steals from Shelby Spradlin, improve to 6-2 on the season.

LIMA — After falling behind 24-10 to Perry in the first quarter, Riverdale never recovered, eventually falling 84-44 in non-conference boys basketball on Tuesday night. The Falcons (1-5) found themselves down 43-23 at the half, and after being outscored 28-11 in the third quarter, they trailed 71-34.

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team jumped two spots to No. 15 in the fifth weekly D3Hoops.com poll, released Monday evening. The Polar Bears (11-0 overall, 4-0 OAC) received 281 points in this week’s poll.

The Kenton Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team was defeated 35-19 by Elida on Tuesday night. Lauren Bartlett and Jill Burd both scored 5 points to lead the Wildcats.

BELLFONTAINE — The Ben Logan bowling team defeated West Liberty-Salem 2,173-1,836 Tuesday night. Ben Logan was led by Zack Barnes who had a 196 game and a 363 series.
