Kenton track and field camp slated

Kenton is hosting a track and field camp for students in grades 5-8 from June 20-23. Each camper will be able to pick one of seven events to focus on for the four days, but there are only 15 spots for each event.

KCS cross country meeting planned

There will be a meeting for any Kenton student who will be entering grades 7-12 and is interested in running cross country in the fall. The meeting, which is also for parents, is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Kenton High School. People with questions can contact cross country coach Jared Manns at 567-674-3146.

BL grad helps Wright St. eliminate Ohio St.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Nick Solak homered and knocked in all three Louisville runs, and left-hander Drew Harrington held Wright State to five hits over 7 1/3 innings as the top-seeded Cardinals clinched the Louisville Regional with a 3-1 victory on Sunday to reach their fourth straight NCAA Super Regional.

Marshall leaps onto podium with fifth-place jump at state

COLUMBUS — Ada High School senior Carlee Marshall came up short of her goal of jumping 17 feet by one inch during the Division III state track and field meet on Friday. But her leap in the finals of 16-11 was good enough for fifth place and a spot on the podium in her final high school track and field meet.
