COLUMBUS — For the second year in a row, Riverdale’s Carrol Pauley is an All-Ohioan in Division III in the discus with a fourth-place finish Friday in the state meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Pauley also placed fourth last year as a sophomore, and though she did not move higher up on the podium, her improvement was evidenced by a top throw of 139-2 that was more than 8 feet better than her best recorded distance last year.

Hardin Northern had a pair of softball players selected for the All-Northwest Central Conference first team in Micheala Curtis and Bailee Waller. Curtis batted .386 with 28 runs scored and seven RBIs.

DOLA — For Hardin Northern junior Nicholas Bame making it back to the Division III state track and field meet was the biggest goal; whatever happens next is a bonus. Bame already has a state medal from placing seventh in the 1,600-meter run last year and he has a chance to get two more Saturday, but that’s not what is driving him.

Riverdale junior first baseman Evan McKee was a first-team All-Blanchard Valley Conference baseball selection, while junior shortstop and outfielder Tristian Davis and shortstop and pitcher Trey Miller were named to the second team.

Riverdale senior pitcher Taylor Farmer was named the player of the year in the Blanchard Valley Conference. She was joined on the All-BVC first team by senior teammate Aricka Hill.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carrol Pauley was the lone Riverdale student in the track and field stadium behind the school on Tuesday. School was out, and the spring sports season was over for every Falcons athlete except for her.
