Pauley repeats as All-Ohioan in D-III discus

COLUMBUS — For the second year in a row, Riverdale’s Carrol Pauley is an All-Ohioan in Division III in the discus with a fourth-place finish Friday in the state meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Pauley also placed fourth last year as a sophomore, and though she did not move higher up on the podium, her improvement was evidenced by a top throw of 139-2 that was more than 8 feet better than her best recorded distance last year.

Bame ready to test himself and give all he has at state

DOLA — For Hardin Northern junior Nicholas Bame making it back to the Division III state track and field meet was the biggest goal; whatever happens next is a bonus. Bame already has a state medal from placing seventh in the 1,600-meter run last year and he has a chance to get two more Saturday, but that’s not what is driving him.
