ONU falls on road to Wilmington

WILMINGTON — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team dropped an 86-81 decision at Wilmington on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bear offense was led by junior Konnor Baker with a team-high 20 points.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley went on a big run early in the fourth quarter to take control and defeat Ada 63-46 in nonconference boys basketball Saturday. Ada’s Owen Conley made a lay-in to tie the score at 37 on the first possession of the fourth quarter.

MOUNT VICTORY — With time running out Saturday, Ridgemont seemed to be in trouble. The Gophers trailed North Baltimore by three in the waning seconds, but Cole Weyant drilled a 3-pointer with four seconds left to tie the game.

Fort Recovery gets by Rams

FORT RECOVERY — Fort Recovery dominated the second quarter Saturday and went on to defeat Upper Scioto Valley 60-48 in nonconference girls basketball. Callie Daniels scored six of her nine points in the first quarter as USV (10-2) built a 17-13 after the opening quarter.

Big second quarter helps BL win, 50-34

LEWISTOWN — Ben Logan dominated the second quarter Saturday against Indian Lake to take control in a 50-34 girls basketball victory that left the Raiders unbeaten in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division play.
