BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan defeated Mechanicsburg 2,754-2,667 on Tuesday in boys bowling. Logan Wenger led the way for the Raiders, bowling games of 256 and 197. Tyler Nicholas rolled a 215 and a 202 and Colton Jones had games of 179 and 198. Ben Logan returns to action Dec. 2 against Riverside.

The Kenton boys basketball team is hosting a Meet the Team Night on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kenton High School gymnasium. The night will feature the Third Annual Alumni Game where past players will compete against the 2015-16 team. Admission will be free.

Kenton hadn’t trailed since the opening minute Saturday and held a lead as big as 13 points, but things seemed to be changing when Lima Central Catholic cut the Wildcats’ lead to four midway through the final quarter in the girls basketball opener for both teams. The Wildcats (1-0) responded by closing the game on a 14-2 run to seal the 62-46 victory.

ONU football rallies for playoff victory

FRANKLIN, Ind. — Ohio Northern rallied from a 16-0 halftime deficit to post a 27-22 victory at Franklin (Ind.) in the first round of the NCAA III Football Playoffs on a wet and snowy Saturday afternoon at Faught Stadium. The Polar Bears improve to 9-2 on the season and advance to the second round Saturday, while the Grizzlies end their season with an 8-3 record.

RICHWOOD — Ben Logan sophomore Nikki Current scored a school record 36 points Friday night in the Raiders’ 61-53 win over North Union. The previous record was 35 points set by Jolee Stevenson in 1985.

TOLEDO — Hardin Northern started well Saturday night against Toledo Christian in girls basketball action, but was outscored in the final three quarters of a 64-45 loss. The Polar Bears (0-2) led 12-8 after the first quarter, trailed 21-20 at halftime and 45-34 after three quarters.
