Missouri suspends Mauk indefinitely

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has been suspended indefinitely. Athletic director Mack Rhodes and coach Barry Odom announced the punishment on Monday night after a brief video was posted to Twitter.

MECHANICSBURG — Ben Logan held off a late charge by Mechanicsburg on Monday night to earn a 65-59 nonconference girls basketball victory. The Raiders (16-3) led 15-12 after the first quarter and 32-29 at halftime.

NEW CARLISLE — The Ben Logan eighth-grade girls basketball team improved to 10-1 in its last 11 games with a 39-33 win over Tecumseh on Monday. Savanna Pavoni led the Raiders with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

The Black team defeated the White team by two points in Masonic Pool, cutting the White team’s lead to 15 points in the tournament. High runs were had by Gene Cook (97, 50, 48), Murrell Pryor (65, 62, 51), Boyd Downey (65), Clarence Hensel (57), Chuck Fulkerson (50) and Roger Rosebrough (48).

Ada pulls away from Kenton in fourth

Kenton scored four straight points to start the fourth quarter Saturday night, tying Ada in the process in a nonconference boys basketball contest. But Ada went on a 14-6 run over the next 5:15 to pull away for a 53-46 victory.

MOUNT VICTORY — Elgin defeated Ridgemont 82-70 in nonconference boys basketball Saturday. The Gophers and Comets both scored 20 first-quarter points, but Elgin outscored Ridgemont in each of the next three quarters.

KHS boys, girls win swimming invitational

MANSFIELD — Kenton swept the inaugural Madison Sprint-vite, winning both the boys and girls swimming titles at the event. The Wildcat girls scored 592 points, 42 more than second-place Mansfield Madison. Marion Harding was third with 183 points.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan jumped out to a big lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 92-38 victory over Graham in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division girls basketball. The Raiders (15-3, 8-0 CBC) led 33-6 after the first quarter and 53-15 at halftime.
