KHS blows lead, bounces back to win in OT

It wasn’t the way Kenton girls basketball coach Ryan Miller wanted his team to close out a game, but in the end the Wildcats were victorious. The Wildcats blew a double-digit second-half lead, needed a buzzer-beating layup to force overtime and then responded in the extra session for a 66-64 victory over Shawnee in Western Buckeye League play.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont girls basketball team struggled to find its offense Thursday night. The good news for the Gophers was their defense was able to hold down Riverside, at least until the fourth quarter.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Falcons girls basketball team was flying high in the second quarter against Leipsic on Thursday night, outscoring the visitors 24-12 on their way to a 70-60 win. The Blanchard Valley Conference win lifts the Falcons to 10-6 overall, 6-2 in the conference.

Kenton swimming wins pair of duals

LIMA — The Kenton High School girls and boys swim teams each won a pair of dual meets on Wednesday. The Kenton girls defeated LCC 59-30 and overpowered Elida by a score of 72-21. The boys took down LCC 48-46, and beat Elida 49-43. The win by the boys avenges their only loss of the season.

DOLA — Hardin Northern built a 15-point halftime lead and rolled to a 43-23 girls basketball win over winless Perry in Northwest Central Conference action Thursday night.

Rams finish game well to beat Lehman

SIDNEY — Upper Scioto Valley used a big fourth quarter to defeat Lehman Catholic, 55-45, in Northwest Central Conference girls basketball Thursday night. With the game tied at 32 after three quarters, the Rams outscored the Cavaliers 23-13 over the final eight minutes for the 10-point victory.

Stebbins hands BL 3rd loss of season

RIVERSIDE — Stebbins snapped Ben Logan’s four-game winning streak Wednesday night by controlling the second half in a 60-50 victory in girls basketball action. The Raiders (14-3) led 17-10 after the first quarter and 23-22 at halftime, but Stebbins outscored Ben Logan 20-11 in the third quarter and 18-16 in the fourth to grab the win.
