ADA — A tournament that started with a lot of hope and promise after winning its first Northwest Conference championship since 1994 came to a quiet end for Ada on Thursday night. After dropping a close first game, the host Bulldogs were unable to regroup as Lima Central Catholic swept them 25-22, 25-17, 25-11 in a Division IV sectional championship match.

NEW CARLISLE — Ben Logan was swept Thursday night in a Division II volleyball sectional semifinal by top-seeded Kenton Ridge. Kenton Ridge won 25-20, 25-18, 25-11. Ben Logan (14-1) was led by Coreen Crosby, who knocked down 14 kills and came up with 13 digs. Addie Rodenberger (16) and Allie Wilson (11) also had double-digit digs.

SPRINGFIELD — Kenton Ridge defeated Ben Logan 4-0 on Thursday night in postseason girls soccer. The Cougars scored on a free kick in the first half to take the lead. Kenton Ridge added a second goal early in the second half and scored two goals late for the final margin.

OTTAWA — Kenton’s volleyball season came to a close Thursday night when the Wildcats were swept by top-seeded Ottawa-Glandorf in a Division II sectional final.

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont couldn’t have gotten off to a much worse start Tuesday during its Division IV volleyball postseason opener against Arcadia. The Redskins scored the first seven points and 16 of the first 20. Ridgemont tried to fight back, but could never find a foothold in the match as Arcadia won 25-12, 25-9, 25-15.

Kenton plays best match of year in postseason victory

Attack

Hosting a Division II sectional semifinal volleyball match on their home court Tuesday night, the Kenton Wildcats swept Toledo Scott 25-9, 25-11, 25-10 to move on in the tournament. The Wildcats will travel to Ottawa-Glandorf to take on the Titans in the tournament at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
