DOLA — Arcadia started to pull away from Hardin Northern after the first quarter Saturday and went on to defeat the Polar Bears 53-29 in nonconference girls basketball action.

Raiders topped at home by WL-S

BELLEFONTAINE — West Liberty-Salem used a big second quarter to take control of its game against Ben Logan on Saturday night in nonconference boys basketball. West Liberty-Salem outscored the Raiders 23-11 in the second quarter and went on to win 68-51.

Good fourth quarter lifts HN

DOLA — Hardin Northern broke open a tie game in the fourth quarter and defeated Mansfield Temple Christian 55-48 in nonconference boys basketball Saturday. The Polar Bears outscored Mansfield Temple Christian 16-9 in the fourth quarter. The game was tied at 39 after three quarters.

Dotson powers USV to victory

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley defeated Fostoria 58-42 on Saturday in nonconference boys basketball. The Rams (8-6) led 17-10 after the first quarter, 33-22 at halftime and 46-38 after three quarters.

Van Wert dominates third quarter, defeats Kenton by 17

The Kenton boys basketball team responded to Van Wert’s first big punch on Friday night. The Wildcats couldn’t answer the Cougars’ second big blow however, as Van Wert outscored them 16-1 in the third quarter to break open a close game on the way to a 56-39 Western Buckeye League victory.
