WAPAKONETA — Leading by one point, the Upper Scioto Valley girls had No. 1 ranked Marion Local right where they wanted them at halftime of the district final basketball matchup on Saturday night. The Lady Rams, however, could not overcome a slow start to the second half.

COLUMBUS — Ben Logan junior Logan Wenger had a tough day Saturday at the boys Division II state bowling tournament at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.

TROY — Ada senior Austin Windle qualified for his second straight Division III state wrestling tournament Saturday. Windle didn’t make things easy on himself during the district tournament at Hobart Arena.

MANSFIELD — Kenton freshman C.J. Cook Jr. was about 10 seconds away from going into overtime with a berth in the Division II state wrestling tournament on the line.

The Kenton boys soccer team will host its annual parents meeting on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school library.

ST. MARYS — Top-seeded Lima Central Catholic lived up to its seed Friday night as it dismantled No. 12 seed Riverdale 94-39 in a Division III sectional final at St. Marys Memorial. The defending state champion Thunderbirds (21-2) looked as if they wanted to send a message to the rest of Division III with a dominating performance.

COLDWATER — It wasn’t a good night for the two remaining Hardin County schools as both Ada and Ridgemont were defeated in Division IV boys basketball sectional final contests on Friday night.

TROY — Ada sent four wrestlers to the Division III district tournament at Hobart Arena and all four return to action today.

MANSFIELD — All three Kenton wrestlers and three of the nine Ben Logan grapplers remain alive in their quest to advance to next week’s state meet after the first day of Division II district wrestling competition at Mansfield.

WAPAKONETA — Upper Scioto Valley starters Bree Mullins and Shelby Spradlin were sick with flu-like symptoms leading up to the Rams district semifinal matchup against New Knoxville on Thursday.
