Dedicating the new lights

The new lights at the Riverdale soccer field were dedicated before a recent game as the Riverdale soccer coaches recognized the donors who contributed to the project through the Riverdale Education Foundation.

Corner kick goal lifts Riverdale to win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Practice paid off for Riverdale in one area Saturday morning. Nathaniel Hughes curled in a corner kick for a goal early in the first half, and it was good enough for the Falcons to take a 1-0 victory against Upper Sandusky in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match.

Long scores five goals in Ada victory

ADA — Kaitlyn Long tied the Ada school record with five goals Saturday in the Bulldogs’ 7-2 victory over Paulding. It was Ada’s second straight win and the Bulldogs (2-10-2) are 2-1-1 in their last four matches.

Falcons sweep Waynesfield-Goshen

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale won a close first set before taking its non-league volleyball match in three against Waynesfield-Goshen on Saturday, 25-23, 25-5, 25-17. Taylor Farmer was dominant from the service line for the Falcons (9-12), going 31-of-32 with seven aces.

Falcons tie on road

MILLER CITY — Taylor Frey scored both goals for Riverdale in a 2-2 draw in a non-conference girls soccer match with Miller City on Saturday. Liz Klear and Kasey Tripp had goals for the Wildcats (5-7-3).

Riverdale girls get second seed

Riverdale earned the second seed in the Division III Findlay District for girls soccer. The Falcons will host their first postseason match on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. against the winner of No. 12 Ada and No. 8 Mansfield Christian.

Falcon boys seeded third

Riverdale grabbed the third seed in the Division III Tiffin boys soccer district during the draw on Sunday. The Falcons open postseason play Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. when they host the winner of Liberty-Benton and Ada.
