The only upcoming event at Memorial Park Golf Course is on Oct. 31 and will be the final membership outing and wiener roast. This will be a par three challenge.

DOLA — Heading into the final volleyball match of the regular season, Hardin Northern and Riverside were tied for second in the Northwest Central Conference. The Polar Bears swept the Pirates to grab the second spot in NWCC Thursday.

URBANA — It wasn’t easy to close out the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division title, but the Ben Logan volleyball did it Thursday night. The Raiders (13-9, 9-1 CBC) defeated Urbana 25-13, 25-23, 14-25, 21-25, 15-10 to clinch the championship outright.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s boys did not allow a shot on goal on their way to a 6-0 win over Ada in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. Justin Riegle scored a goal and had four assists for the Falcons (8-3-4, 5-0-2 NCOSA).

CELINA — Celina converted two penalty kicks in the final eight minutes to come from behind and beat Kenton 3-2 in Western Buckeye League boys soccer Thursday.

Bellefontaine scored a pair of second-half goals Thursday night to top Kenton 2-0 in nonconference girls soccer. After a scoreless first half, Zoe Price and Katie Harman put in goals for the Lady Chiefs. Kenton returns to action Saturday when it travels to Van Buren.

WAYNESFIELD — Upper Scioto Valley swept Waynesfield-Goshen in Northwest Central Conference volleyball Thursday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren scored two goals in the final 16:10 to earn a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Riverdale in NCOSA girls soccer Wednesday night. The Black Knights scored a little less than 15 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead, but Riverdale scored the next two goals and dominated possession for much of the night.

With postseason hopes all but behind them, the Kenton Wildcats find themselves in a role they haven’t been in for a long time — looking to get some wins at the end of the season as they start building for the future. This week, the Wildcats (2-5) look to put a crimp in any hope Elida has of making the football playoffs when they go on the road to face the 4-3 Bulldogs.

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont senior Devin Mouser took a different route to the golf state tournament than many of the players he will be competing against this weekend. Mouser will be one of 72 golfers taking the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University on Friday morning for the first day of the two-day Division III state golf meet.
