USV football blows by Cory-Rawson, 44-14

RAWSON — Jason Moots threw three touchdown passes and Austin Sloan rushed for two more as Upper Scioto Valley pulled away for a 44-14 win over Cory-Rawson on Friday night. The Rams, 1-1, led 14-7 at halftime before putting the game out of reach with 30 points in the third quarter.

Kenton earns home draw with Defiance

Kenton pounded away at the Defiance goal for much of the first half, but couldn’t find a break through Thursday night in Western Buckeye Conference boys soccer. Kenton (3-1-2, 0-0-1 WBL) fell behind early in the second half, but battled back for a 1-1 draw.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Grace Miller scored three times and Megan Hensel and Katelyn Hildebrand had two goals each as the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team grabbed a 10-0 victory against Ada in North Central Ohio Soccer Association play Thursday.

Falcon girls blow past Bluffton soccer

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale girls soccer team opened North Central Ohio Soccer Association play by rolling past Bluffton, 8-0, on Thursday. Reygan Frey and Aubreah Manns each scored two goals, and Gabi Rodriguez, Taylor Frey, Lexi Bahn and Alex Rothlisberger each had one goal apiece. Bahn scored on a penalty kick.

HN rolls to victory

DOLA — After a close opening game, Hardin Northern blew out Waynesfield-Goshen in the next two Thursday night in its Northwest Central Conference volleyball opener. The Polar Bears (5-1, 1-0 NWCC) won 25-18, 25-7, 25-3.

Raiders sweep Indian Lake in CBC play

BELLEFONTAINE — The Benjamin Logan volleyball team downed Indian Lake in straight sets Thursday, 25-23, 25-19 and 25-13. The win moves the Raiders to 3-3 overall, 2-0 in Central Buckeye Conference play.

Wildcats swept by Defiance

DEFIANCE — Kenton lost its Western Buckeye League volleyball opener Thursday, falling to Defiance 25-11, 25-11, 25-10. Layne Taylor, a sophomore, led Kenton’s offense with five kills and added five blocks to help on the defensive end of the court.

Wildcats lose by one shot

Kenton shot 157 at Memorial Park Golf Course on Thursday night, but still lost its first dual match of the season. The Wildcats (7-1, 5-1 Western Buckeye League) were edged 156-157 by Shawnee.

Kenton topped by Indians

LIMA — Claire Oates provided the only win of the day for the Kenton girls tennis team as it fell to Western Buckeye League foe Shawnee 4-1 on the road Thursday.
