BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan senior Davis Bowers has put a lot of time into improving as a pole vaulter. It has paid off – with a scholarship to NCAA Division II Tiffin University and a berth in the Division II state track and field meet.

The Upper Scioto Valley track teams handing out special awards to several of its top performers on Tuesday night.

The annual Kenton High School football camps will take place on June 10 and from June 16 to 19 at the field behind the KHS athletic building.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale sophomore Carrol Pauley and junior Aubreah Manns have accomplished a lot this track and field season, but one item still remains on the “to-do list” — place at state. Pauley, who said she did track and field because her twin sister (Cara) wanted to do it and didn’t want to do it alone, has turned into a prolific field athlete in just her sophomore season.

The First Farm Indians rallied late in the game to beat the Reds 4-3 on Monday afternoon. Alex Furr pitched the first 3 1/3 innings for the Indians, followed by Kyle Thrush and Sean Kuhlman.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Brittany Holbrook and Austin Sloan are on opposite ends of the high school pendulum. Holbrook, a senior, will be trying to put an exclamation point on her high school track career when she competes in three events at the Division III state meet in Columbus on Friday and Saturday.

DOLA — Hardin Northern senior MacKenzie Shepherd’s bid to return to the state track and field meet in the pole vault almost came to a premature end Friday night at the Division III district meet at Tiffin.

The Kenton High School boys basketball program will be conducting its youth summer camp for boys entering grades 3-6 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 29-July 2 in the KHS gymnasium.

DOLA — Hardin Northern held its spring sports awards program on Thursday, handing out awards to athletes participating in baseball, softball and boys and girls track and field.
