The first farm Indians beat the Dodgers 18-3 on Monday. For the Indians, Mitchell Stevens hit a home run and had a single; Kyle Thrush hit a grand slam and a double; Alex Furr hit a home run and a single; Sean Kuhlman and Brendon Hooe both had doubles and Tim Wilkinson hit a home run and a triple.

LIMA — After a tough start Saturday in a Division II sectional singles championship match, Kenton senior Dale Oates rebounded to win 10 of the final 14 games and capture the sectional title with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Spencer Collins of Lima Central Catholic.

WAYNESFIELD — Brittany Holbrook capped her Northwest Central Conference track career with first-place efforts in four events, including a league record time in the 200-meter dash, to lead the Lady Rams to a second place finish in the team standings at the NWCC league meet on Saturday.

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Ada girls, led by freshman Anney Archer who placed in the top three in four events, finished fourth as a team at the Northwest Conference track meet on Saturday.

ST. PARIS — The Ben Logan boys and girls track teams claimed the Mad River Division Title of the Central Buckeye Conference on Friday night.

FINDLAY — The Riverdale boys were second and the Falcon girls were fourth at the Blanchard Valley Conference track meet on Friday night.

For the second time in four years the Kenton softball team is sectional champions. The Wildcats reached that feat on Friday night by putting three runs on the scoreboard in the third inning and then holding off visiting Ottawa-Glandorf the rest of the way for a 4-2 victory.

DEFIANCE — Kenton had two top-six placers on the second day of the Western Buckeye League track meet as the Widlcats finished the meet in ninth place with 10 points.

ST. MARYS — Kenton’s Tristan Reichelderfer and St. Marys’ Nathan Wilker were locked into an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel during Thursday’s sectional baseball final. It was the Wildcats that finally caved as a pair of errors on the same play in the fifth inning led to two St. Marys run as the Roughriders would go on to a 3-0 victory.

LIMA — With its play on Thursday at a Division II sectional tennis tournament, Kenton guaranteed it will have someone in Saturday’s sectional final. The Wildcats also had two players qualify for districts – Dale Oates and Jake Abbott.
