LIMA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team dropped a tight 5-4 decision to No. 35-ranked Kalamazoo (Mich.) on Sunday afternoon indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

BOWLING GREEN — Kenton’s Mo Gray and Ada’s Mitchell Wilcox can add the words ‘district champion’ to their swimming resumes. The Lady Wildcat and Bulldog both won their respective 100-yard breaststroke events during the Northwest District Division II swim meet at Bowling Green State University on Friday night.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley coach Jeff Kloepfer got what he wanted Friday night in the Rams’ senior night game. USV (16-4) jumped out to a big lead and maintained while all seven seniors played and then cruised to a 67-41 nonconference boys basketball victory over Riverdale.

DOLA — A 13-point second quarter run by Cory-Rawson put Hardin Northern in a hole they were unable to climb out of, resulting in a 68-37 boys basketball loss for the Polar Bears on Friday night.

BELLEFONTAINE — Springfield Northwestern outscored Ben Logan 8-2 in overtime to rally for a 45-39 victory over the Raiders on CBC boys basketball action on Friday night.

COLUMBUS GROVE — A second half Ada rally fell short as the visiting Bulldogs fell 60-58 to host Columbus Grove in a Northwest Conference matchup on Friday night.

CELINA — Celina used a balanced attack and a couple of dominant quarters Friday night to send the Bulldogs to a 76-49 victory over Kenton in Western Buckeye League boys basketball.

Sara Hoyt had a career high with 18 points for the Kenton girls basketball team when the Wildcats played host to Celina on Thursday night. Unfortunately for the Wildcats it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs placed three players in double figures

ADA — It took Ada a little more than two minutes Thursday night to turn a one-point halftime lead into a 10-point advantage over Columbus Grove. Ada held on from there for a 62-58 victory in Northwest Conference girls basketball action.

TECUMSEH — Springfield Shawnee rallied from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the score and then outscored Ben Logan 6-4 in overtime to come from behind to defeat the Raiders 56-54 in a Southwest District girls sectional matchup on Thursday night.
