It’s early in the Northwest Central Conference schedule, but Hardin Northern looks to keep its name atop the league football standings when the Polar Bears host Perry in their homecoming game on Friday. The Polar Bears, 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the NWCC, opened their league slate last week with the programs first win ever over Upper Scioto Valley.

BELLEFONTAINE — Joeseph Gulick scored the winning goal with 2:31 remaining as Ben Logan defeated Tecumseh 3-2 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer match on Wednesday. It was the first time in Ben Logan history that the Raiders have defeated Tecumseh.

VERSAILLES — The Ben Logan girls golf team finished first at the Southwest sectional tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon. Led by Sydney Wesson’s 84, the Raiders shot a team score of 363 to top second place Miami East, which shot a 397.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan middle school volleyball teams split a pair of matches with Graham on Wednesday night. The seventh grade Raiders won 25-13, 25-12. Mia Stahler served 5 aces and Makayla Williamson and Lexi Archer had 6 kills each to lead the Raiders. Delaney Miracle and Kearstin Linkinhoker each added a kill.

Pre-Sale tickets for this Friday’s Kenton at Wapakoneta football game will be on-sale in the high school office from noon-4 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Adults tickets are $6 and students tickets are $4. All tickets at the gate will be $7.

LIMA — Kenton had six girls finish in the top 17 led by Kierra Krohmer’s second place effort of 20:56 as the Lady Wildcats were second of eight teams at the Bath Invitational cross country meet on Tuesday.

With Lindsey Smith leading the way, the Kenton Lady Wildcats volleyball team came away with a home victory in straight sets against inter-county foe Ridgemont on Tuesday night, 25-21, 25-21, 25-17. The win is the Wildcats’ second of the season, improving their record to 2-8. The Lady Gophers fall to 2-7.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan defeated London in four sets 18=25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20 in a Central Buckeye Conference cross-divisional volleyball matchup on Tuesday night. The Raiders improve to 12-4 overall.

DOLA — Hardin Northern got stronger as the match went on as the Polar Bears swept Waynesfield-Goshen 26-24, 25-13, 25-6 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. Kennedy Hall served up four aces and had 15 assists and 4 kills to lead the Polar Bears. She paced HN defensively with 4 digs.

SPRINGFIELD — The Ben Logan boys golf team finished their season in heartbreaking fashion Tuesday, tying for the fourth place in the team standings, but losing out on a chance for the district meet in a scorecard tiebreaker. Kenton Ridge won the sectional at Reid Park with a 333, followed by Graham with a 341. Greenview with a 359 and Miami East and Ben Logan at 370.
