The first Never Give Up Football Camp for individuals with disabilities will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Robinson Field in Kenton. The goal of the camp is to provide individuals with disabilities a chance to learn the game of football under the Friday night lights.

The Major League Braves defeated the Pirates 11-1 under the lights Monday night. Bam Bam Wilkinson led the Braves by going 3-3 with a home run, a triple and a single and also retired the last three batters of the game on the mound. Also hitting for the Braves were Tayvion Glispie with three singles and Jack Whitmer and Carson Bash, who both had a double and a triple.

LIMA — First Responders Night with the Lima Locos is at Simmons Field on Friday at 7:05 p.m. All first responders will be admitted to the game for free courtesy of the Lima Locos. They will receive a free meal (hot dog, chips, and soda) and other fun items courtesy of the MHRSB of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties.

In Spring League action at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of Brian McFadden, Dean Brim, Jeff Butcher, Lew Hanna and Tami McFadden took first place with a total score of 37 under. In second place was the team of Paul Coker, Reggie Sampson, Bryant Piper, Andy Tudor and Joni Rensing at 32 under and in third place was the team of Brad Hanna, Todd Hayter, Doug Wright, Don Dodd, and Judy Brim with a 29 under.

COLUMBUS - Ben Logan high jumper Madison Manns didn't quite have the type of day on Friday that she envisioned coming into the Division II State Track and Field Meet. Even so the Raider seniors best jump of 5-2 was good enough to get her a seventh place finish and a spot on the podium for the second year in a row in Columbus.

DOLA — Hardin Northern held its annual Spring Sports Awards banquet on May 29, presenting honors to its baseball, softball and track and field athletes. Softball players receiving special awards were Audrey Grindell, most valuable offensive player; Paytin Pore, most valuable defensive player; Gabbi Hackworth, Polar Bear award, Alex Jackson, most valuable player.

The 15th Annual Rushsylvania Rockets 5K will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 8 a.m. The race begins and ends at the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, 152 Rush Street.

Kenton Little Leaguers help celebrate the $1,000 grant from Mid-Ohio Energy’s Community Fund which will help cover entry fees for kids who may not otherwise be able to participate.

RIDGEWAY — The third annual Punky’s Pace 5K run/walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 6 behind the old Ridgemont High School near the track and football field. Registration and packet pick-up is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The cost for pre-registraion is $25. Those pre-registered are guaranteed a shirt. The registration form must be postmarked by June 14. After June 14 through the day of the race the cost is $30 and a shirt is not guaranteed. Awards will be given to the top overall make and female and top masters male and female. Participants finishing in the top three in each male and female age group also will receive awards.

The second farm Indians defeated the Marlins 21-5 in Kenton Little League second farm play no Thursday. Leading the way for the Indians was Domanic Sloan and Braylen Miller with a home runs and 2 singles each. Jayce Bordner and Eliannah Miller both added a double and 2 singles; Tatum Dale, Solomon Petty, and Brendan Potter all had 3 singles; Nolan Asman had a triple and a single; Emma kaylor, Stewart Kaylor, and Mya Hunsaker all had 2 singles and Lucas Getz had a single.
