Lady ‘Cats spike W-G for first win of season

WAYNESFIELD — The Kenton volleyball team earned its first victory of the season on Tuesday, defeating Waynesfield-Goshen 25-10, 25-22, 25-22 in a non-league matchup. Leading the way for Kenton was Erin Lyons, who accounted for 17 service points in the match to go along with five digs and six assists. Chesney Moore chipped in with 7 digs, while Laney Harpel and Jenna Manns each had 9 assists each.

Ben Logan spikers improve to 3-0 in CBC

SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan picked up a three set 25-9. 25-15, 25-17 victory over Springfield Northwestern in a Central Buckeye Conference volleyball matchup on Tuesday night. The Raiders, who improve to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in CBC play, were paced by Kylie Frazier with 14 service points, including six aces, five kills and eight assists.

Defiance outshoots KHS on the golf course

The Kenton golf team fell to Defiance 161-194 in the Wildcats final home match of the season on Tuesday night. Senior Trey Jeffries led the Wildcats with a 46. He was followed by Noah Ketcham with a 47, Luke Hites with a 48 and Ethan Wirbel with a 53.

Krohmer, Brown lead Kenton harriers at Elida

ELIDA — Kierra Krohmer was fifth of 68 runners in a time of 20:51.5 to lead the way as the Kenton girls cross country team finished third of six teams at the Elida Invitational on Tuesday night. Also for Kenton, Lauren Bartlett was 11th in 21:48.1, followed by Sammie Unger in 16th (22:28), Kylie Allmon in 19th (22:44) Callie Wright in 21st (22:59), Kendyl Gibson in 38th (25:36.3) and Myranda Archer in 47th (26:50.7).

BL golf picks up CBC win

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team defeated North Union 180-260 on Tuesday night at Liberty Hills. For the Raiders Ethan Ricketts led the way with a 41, followed by Bryce Loomis with a 45. Jacob Mitchell, Trey Allen and Aiden Elsass all had 47s. Rounding out the scoring was Alex Naragon with a 48.

CELINA — Celina edged Kenton 38-36 in a seventh grade football game on Tuesday night. Korbin Johnston had four touchdown passes to lead the young Wildcats. Grady Kleman caught a touchdown pass and ran for another touchdown, while Dawson Miller caught two touchdown passes and Trenton Delong had one touchdown catch.
