Polar Bears get past Riverside

The Hardin Northern Polar Bears outscored Riverside 21-0 in the second half to overcome a 14-7 halftime deficit, earning the 28-14 football victory on Friday night. The Polar Bears improve their record to 4-2 overall with a mark of 2-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. The Pirates fall to 2-4, 1-2.

Lady Wildcats tennis season ends at DII sectional tournament

Despite having several victories in the early rounds, the Kenton High School girls tennis team ended its season at the sectional tournament on Friday at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Winning matches for the Wildcats in the first round were first singles Mykaela Schriber, third singles Grace Collins, and first doubles Kayce Sherman and Aaliyah Rogers.

Late FG lifts Arcadia over Riverdale

Tied at 35 with Riverdale in the fourth quarter, Arcadia’s kicker converted a 19-yard field goal, putting the Redskins in front and handing the Falcons the 38-35 loss on their homecoming night on Friday. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-3 overall, 2-2 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Arcadia improves 3-3, 2-1.

Raider Rally comes up short

Trailing Graham 34-12 on the road in the fourth quarter, the Benjamin Logan offense surged for 20 points but came up just 2 points shy of a comeback, falling 34-32 in Friday night’s football game. The Falcons led 13-6 at the half before outscoring the Raiders 14-6 in the third quarter to go up 27-12.

Krohmer tops girls field; Brown, Weber lead area boys at KHS Invite

Kenton’s Logan Brown was second and Riverdale’s Eli Weber was third to pace area runners in the boys portion of the Kyle Althauser Memorial Cross Country Invitational hosted by Kenton at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on Thursday night. Brown finished in a time of 18:01.3 to place second in the 53-runner field, while Weber was right behind him in 18:03

Kenton outshot Ottawa-Glandorf 6-1 on Thursday night, but the Wildcats were unable to get the ball in the back of the net as the teams tied 0-0 in Western Buckeye League action. Brent Rader had one save in the game in recording his ninth shutout of the season for Kenton.
