BELLEFONTAINE — Springfield defeated host Ben Logan 7-1 in the championship game of the Quest Cup tournament on Saturday night. After falling behind 4-0 by halftime, Dylan Welch scored the lone goal for the Raiders on a penalty kick 27 seconds into the second half.

MARION — Marion Harding defeated Kenton 5-0 in a non-league tennis match on Friday afternoon. In singles play, Harding’s Nicole Flocl bested Mykaela Schriber 6-3, 6-2; Destiny Moaney topped Lily Osborn 6-1, 6-0 and Tyler Simmers topped Grace Collins (score not received).

The Kenton and Ada girls soccer game scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to Kenton High School at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was originally scheduled to be played in Ada.

The Benjamin Logan Middle School volleyball team started its season Saturday by hosting a tri-match with Riverside and Jonathan Alder. The seventh grade Lady Raiders beat Riverside in straight sets 25-15 and 25-8. Scoring for the Raiders were Lexi Archer and Mia Stahler, who both had 4 aces and 3 kills. Makayla Williamson added 5 aces and a kill. Delaney Miracle served 5 aces.

The weekly winner in the Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course was Norm Newman. Dick Cannode was second and Mike Fink and Tom Meyers tied for third. Newman expanded his overall lead in the league with Doug Camper second and Doug Roberts third. Norm has nearly an unbeatable lead with his latest win, but second and third are hotly contested.

Kenton’s Reed Cook pushes upfield past a Bellefontaine defender in the Wildcats’ season-opening match against the Chieftains at home on Friday night. Results for the match were unavailable by presstime.

RAWSON — The Riverdale girls soccer team opened its season with a 4-0 shutout victory against Cory-Rawson on Friday evening. The Falcons (1-0, 1-0 North Central Ohio Soccer Association) scored a pair of goals in each half.

The Trophy Bassmasters traveled back to Lake Erie for their seventh outing of the year recently.

MECHANICSBURG — Mechanicsburg outshot Kenton 213-253 in a girls golf match on Thursday afternoon. Anna Longbrake fired a 58 to lead the Lady Wildcats. She was followed by Eden Cronley with a 59, Grace Hattery with a 65 and Kennedie Farthing with a 71.

McGUFFEY — The Upper Scioto Valley varsity football scrimmage against Ridgedale originally scheduled to be played at Ridgedale on Saturday has been moved and will be played at Upper Scioto Valley beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday.
