Middle school: August 19, 2019

The Benjamin Logan Middle School volleyball team started its season Saturday by hosting a tri-match with Riverside and Jonathan Alder. The seventh grade Lady Raiders beat Riverside in straight sets 25-15 and 25-8. Scoring for the Raiders were Lexi Archer and Mia Stahler, who both had 4 aces and 3 kills. Makayla Williamson added 5 aces and a kill. Delaney Miracle served 5 aces.

Swing thoughts: August 19, 2019

The weekly winner in the Senior League at Memorial Park Golf Course was Norm Newman. Dick Cannode was second and Mike Fink and Tom Meyers tied for third. Newman expanded his overall lead in the league with Doug Camper second and Doug Roberts third. Norm has nearly an unbeatable lead with his latest win, but second and third are hotly contested.

KHS girls drop golf match

MECHANICSBURG — Mechanicsburg outshot Kenton 213-253 in a girls golf match on Thursday afternoon. Anna Longbrake fired a 58 to lead the Lady Wildcats. She was followed by Eden Cronley with a 59, Grace Hattery with a 65 and Kennedie Farthing with a 71.
