MANSFIELD — The Kenton High School girls tennis team opened its season with a 4-1 victory over Mansfield St. Peter’s on Tuesday night. “We were really hoping to come out strong tonight to help build our teams confidence. We were able to do that and I was very happy with the shots and matchplay overall,” said Kenton Coach Katie Isenbarger.

ARLINGTON — Brady Hipsher carded a 39 and earned medalist honors to lead the Upper Scioto Valley golf team to a 183-212 victory over Riverdale on Tuesday afternoon at Sycamore Springs. Tyler Gratz added a 47 for the Rams, while Dylan Thompson recorded a 48 and Jared Hunt a 49.

The Ben Logan boys golf team started its Central Buckeye Conference schedule off with a 173-190 win over Indian Lake Tuesday afternoon. Leading the way for the Raiders was Ethan Ricketts with a 36.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan girls golf team swept a tri-match from Riverside and North Union on Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders, led by identical 37s from Mailiis Simovart and Sydney Wesson finished with a team score of 174. Riverside ended up with a 199 and North Union a 229.

About 35 Kenton High School soccer alumni came back on Saturday night to play the members of the 2018 Kenton High School soccer team in the annual alumni game. The current group of Wildcats rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit for a 5-3 victory.

Four Kenton Youth participated in the Dave Staley Adult and Youth Triathlon held on Sunday. The triathlon consisted of a 100 meter swim, a two-mile bike ride and a one mile run.

WAYNESFIELD — The Ridgemont golf team was 13th of 14 teams at the Waynesfield-Goshen Invitational on Monday afternoon. Led by Carson James 18-hole score of 90, the Gophers shot a team score of 438.

ARLINGTON — Arlington defeated Ada 187-235 in a dual golf match on Monday afternoon. Alex Morgan led the way for Ada with a 52. Austin Aburgey added a 59, Rob Allison a 61 and Ethan Hull a 63.

In the men’s senior league at Memorial Park Golf Course, Wayne Moon and Dave Jesse tied for first place in the weekly round. Paul Hatcher and Karl McNeal tied for second and Dick Battles and Roger Crowe tied for third.
