Playing for coach Jamie Bartlett at Kenton High School in the early 2000s, Rob Snowden developed an intense passion and love for the game of soccer that he carries with him to this day. That, plus his love for his alma mater, brings Snowden back to Kenton for a week each August.

Brad Hanna, a member at Veterans Memorial Golf Club in Kenton, used a nine iron to ace the 122-yard second hole at Stonehedge North course in Augusta, Mich. It was Hanna’s third career hole-in-one but his first out of state.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team took sixth of nine teams while Kenton was eighth in the Ryan Reynolds Tournament at Liberty Hills on Thursday. Bellefontaine won the event with a 327, followed by Springfield Shawnee 329, Vandalia 330, St. Marys 331, Carroll 341, Ben Logan 350, Tecumseh 359, Kenton 368 and Indian Lake 400.

BELLEFONTAINE — Host Ben Logan won the Lady Raider Golf Invitational at Cherokee Hills on Thursday with a score of 363. Mailiis Simovart fired a 79 to lead the Lady Raiders and earn a second place medal.

BLUFFTON — Ada finished third of four teams in a Northwest Conference golf match on Thursday afternoon in Bluffton. Bluffton won the meet with a team score of 183, while Columbus Grove was second with a 196, Ada was third with a 215 and Crestview was fourth at 223.

WAYNESFIELD — Brady Hipsher fired a 35 over nine holes to lead Upper Scioto Valley to a 176-209 Northwest Central Conference golf win over Waynesfield-Goshen on Thursday. Tyler Gratz added a 46 for the Rams, while Jared Hunt came in with a 47 and Kaden Parker and Dylan Thompson both had 48s.

SPRINGFIELD — Mailiis Simovart earned medalist honors as the Ben Logan girls golf team finished first in the Central Buckeye Conference preseason tournament at Lakeland Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon. Simovart shot an 18-hole score of 79 as the Raiders recorded a 373 as a team.

BUCYRUS — Andrew Kuenzli carded a 39 to lead the way as the Riverdale golf team topped Colonel Crawford 197-225 in a non-league golf match at Valley View on Wednesday. Rease Haley added a 47 for the Falcons, who carded 20 birdies on the day.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team shot a season-best 334 but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders fell to Graham 319-334 in the Central Buckeye Conference preseason tournament on Wednesday. Ethan Rickets’ 79 led the way for the Raiders, who fired a 319 team score.
