Three Kenton High School seniors were recognized on the All-Western Buckeye League baseball teams released on Tuesday. Wildcat pitcher and shortstop Trent Reichelderfer was selected to the first team, while pitcher and first baseman Shawn Conover was named to the third team and outfielder Hunter Moore was honorable mention.

ADA — The Ada softball team secured the school’s first ever district championship when it defeated Columbus Grove 8-2 on Saturday at Elida High School. Now the Bulldogs want more.

The major league Braves defeated the Indians 13-1 in Kenton Little League action on Friday. Hitters for the Braves were Ethan Rall with a home run, Bill Wilkinson with two doubles and Anthony Hunt and Kyle Thrush with singles.

Ridgemont seniors Sidney Richardson and Meadow Cromer combined for three second place finishes during the Division III district track competition at Bucyrus High School on Saturday. Richardson was the runner-up in the 100 dash in 13.26 seconds and the 200 dash in 27.23 seconds, while Cromer was second in the pole vault.

FINDLAY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Megan Carey won both hurdle events to lead area athletes at the Division III district track meet at Findlay High School on Saturday. Carey, a senior, won the 100 hurdles in 15.58 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 47.98 seconds to advance to this week’s regional track meet in Tiffin.

ELIDA — Maddie Gossard had four RBIs including a two-run homer in the first inning Ada as the Bulldogs pulled away for an 8-2 win over Columbus Grove and a district championship on Saturday. It is first softball district title in school history for Ada.
