ST. PARIS — Ben Logan’s Madison Manns advanced to next week’s regional track meet with a second place finish in the high jump during Division II district competition at Graham on Thursday afternoon. Plikerd cleared 5-1 to finish second to Springfield Shawnee’s Hannah Schartz (5-2).

The White Sox defeated the Padres 9-0 in 2nd Farm action Kenton Little League Wednesday night. The White Sox were led at the plate by Xavier Gammon who went for 3 with a home run and two singles.

DEFIANCE — Lauren Johnson set a Kenton High School record on the way to a first place finish in the discus on the first night of the Division II district track and field meet at Defiance on Wednesday night. Johnson’s throw of 133-9 also was a district record and more than 13 feet farther than the second place effort of 120-7 by Van Wert’s Kristen Clay.

ELIDA — Ada used its skill playing small ball to score three runs in the third inning and then needed a diving catch from Teara Coulson in centerfield in the sixth inning to preserve a 4-2 Division IV district semifinal softball win over Wayne Trace on Wednesday night.

FINDLAY — Coming into Wednesday’s Division IV district semifinal against Riverdale, Carey sophomore Reece Mullholand had never hit a game-winner. But with the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he was given the opportunity to do just that.

ADA — Ohio Northern won the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's All-Sports trophy for the 2017-18 season. This marks the third consecutive title and the 12th crown overall for the Polar Bear women's teams.

Hardin Northern had a pair of players earn first-team all Northwest Central Conference softball honors for their efforts this spring. Senior outfielders Cassidy Deckling and Haylei Pees were selected to the first team after leading the Polar Bears to a 10-14 record.

The Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame inducted athletes from a variety of venues on Saturday night, ranging from a successful baseball and basketball coach to a target shooter and a high speed driver.

The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton traveled to Alum Creek in central Ohio recently for the fourth club tournament of the season. Fourteen anglers made the trip for the 8 1/2-hour competition day and a total of 18 keepers of at least 12 inches were scored weighing in at 35.70 pounds.

Hardin County Pioneers Track Team came home with 14 Gold, 15 Silver, 17, Bronze, 10-4th, and 5-5th during a meet in Bluffton recently.
