A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard Clarence Boes will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey with Rev. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Kirby.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a rosary service will be at 7:45 p.m.
He died Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 12, 1932 in Kirby to Charles Sr. and Leona (Brandt) Boes. On Oct. 2, 1954 he married Agnes Ruth Naderer in Fremont and she preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children, Sister Mary Ruth Boes, John Boes, Donald Boes, Michael (Patty) Boes, Jerry Boes, Joan Boes, Sharon (Kenny) Bushong and Mary (Derek) Rall; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. his sisters, Sr. Agnes Marie Boes, Mary Dick-Howe, Sr. Jane Boes; brothers, Charles Jr (Patricia), Eugene (Helen), Daniel (LouAnn); and sisters-in-law, Mary Boes, Janice Boes, Rose Boes and Margie Boes.
Preceding him in death were his sister, Rita (Carl) Wagner; brothers, Paul, Richard, Francis and Joseph; and his daughter, Jane (Tim) Cox.
He was a lifelong agricultural and dairy farmers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Hospice of Wyandot County or Masses and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay Street, Carey, Ohio.
