ALGER — There will be an Alger council work session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in council chambers to discuss the water tower.

TUESDAY, APRIL 10 Ridgeway council – 7 p.m., chambers

The Hardin County Board of Elections will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 12 in its office in the basement of the Hardin County Courthouse to conduct public logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment. The April board meeting will follow, which will include allocation of machines.

MONDAY, APRIL 9 Kenton City Council – 7 p.m., chambers

Thomas Newland, with Newland Insurance Agency in Kenton, was recently awarded the Founders’ Award presented by Erie Insurance Group. The award is a measure of quality agency performance in auto and property production and service to customers.

The Hardin County Agricultural Society discussed a variety of topics at its monthly meeting Wednesday night. All 21 directors were present along with 10 guests.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7 Blanchard Township Zoning Commission and Appeals Board – 12:30 p.m., township hall; reorganizational meeting

Hardin County received final federal approval for its All Hazard Mitigation Plan on March 26. According to an approval letter from the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region V in Chicago, Hardin County met all criteria for the plan that now establishes eligibility for a full complement of Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grants.
