WOOSTER – Ohio Hi-Point's Outdoor Careers students placed third and won $500 at the Ohio High School Landscape Olympics (OHLO) on Nov. 1 and 2. OHLO, which tests students' skills through hands-on, competitive events designed by industry professionals, is put on by the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association and takes place at OSU ATI in Wooster.

Benjamin Logan FFA recently traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to participate in the 91st National FFA Convention. This year the chapter visited Tuttle Orchards, Kelsay Farms, Umbarger Show Feeds, and Poe Hamps Farm.

Diabetes is a chronic health condition that can make it difficult for your body to turn food into energy, according to Berrie Mabins, Health and Wellness Administrator, Ohio Department of Aging. Having diabetes can change how much and which types of food will work well in your body.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14 Diabetes Support Group – 5 p.m. at McCullough Conference Room, Hardin Memorial Hospital. The topic will be “Diabetes Friendly Holiday Celebration” by DeAnna Carey, dietitian and diabetes educator at HMH.

Kenton’s Ace Hardware has made a $250 donation to Helping Hands Outreach. The money was raised from an event held at the store on Oct. 20.

VAN WERT — Ada won the Northwest Conference Scholastic Bowl competition with an 8-0 record in matches held at Lincolnview High School on Saturday. Crestview and Bluffton tied for second with 6-2 records in the competition followed by Spencerville, Columbus Grove, Allen East and Paulding (tie), Lincolnview and Delphos Jefferson.

DUNKIRK — Free tech help will be available at the Hardin Northern Public Library Thursday from 1 - 8 pm. Chloe Noel will assist with internet issues, general or specific technology issues, questions and/or concerns about smartphones, laptops, tablets and other devices, Microsoft Word and much more.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will be hosting the program “Owls of the Night” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Forest Gormley Park all weather pavilion. Learn about owl adaptations and skills, and see a real owl up close.
