The Cancer Cops Relay for Life Team will be hosting a rib cook-off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Hillcrest Lanes Bowling Alley parking lot, 1001 W. Lima St., Kenton. Entry fee is $30 per team of two. Meat (baby back ribs only) preparation ahead of time is permitted. All meat must be cooked on site. Spaces are 10 feet by 10 feet.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will be having a movie matinee at 1 p.m. Friday, July 13. The movie “Chappaquiddick,” rated PG-13, will be shown at 1 p.m.

At the Relay For Life of Hardin County meeting on June 20, plans for this year’s Relay for Life were discussed. It will be Friday, July 13 around the square in Kenton from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Wolf Creek Art Center has a colorful palette of classes arranged for youth and adults this summer. All workshops will be led by volunteer professional artists at the facility located at 16163 Ohio 31, 4 miles south of Kenton.

Judy Crowe from the Kenton Elks Club hands Joe Dulin a gift bag for the veterans at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab. All veterans were visited and were given a gift.

A meal is served at 11:15 a.m. weekdays for people ages 60 and older at the Hardin County Council on Aging in Kenton. Meals are for donation only.
