ALGER — The second annual Second Expression, a fundraiser for Hardin County artists and the Alger Public Library, was again a huge success. With ribbons, trophies and cash prizes awarded, one-of-a-kind artworks sold and encouraging words shared by retired educator Jerry Kramer; Jon Cross, president and CEO of the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance; Brice Beaman, Hardin County commissioner; and Paul Osborne, Marion Township trustee, the evening was enjoyed by all.

“All About Thanksgiving” was the theme of the Hardin County Family YMCA’s Super Silly Saturday on Nov. 10.

DOLA — The Hardin Northern Elementary Students of the month were announced this week for October.

ASHLAND — Two area students are members of the Pre-Health Club at Ashland University. Matthew Wilcox of Ada is majoring in exercise science.

The Kenton Rotary Club on Nov. 7 gave a check for $1,470 to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and the Hardin County Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) for the Project Lifesaver program.

The Hardin County Democratic Party held its regular monthly meeting on Nov. 9 at its headquarters located at 16 N. Main St. in Kenton at 7 p.m. The meeting was preceded by a carry-in dinner.

The Nite Owls Homemaker Club met on Nov. 8 for lunch at the Oh My Grill restaurant in Dunkirk. Phyllis Parsons and Elaine Hoover were hostesses. Phyllis opened the meeting in prayer.

Kenton-Hardin County Soroptimist Club International congratulates Club 250 winner Chrissy Haudenschield. She will receive $125.
