No quorum in Alger

ALGER — The first meeting of the Alger council for April didn't take place when it failed to have a quorum of members at Monday’s meeting. Mayor Von Summa was absent from the session, making council president Don Hensley the acting mayor. JP Hunt and Ethan Hunt also were absent.

Zoning board to meet

A Kenton Board of Zoning Appeals is set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the municipal building. The board will review the following applications: 305 Park Ave. (garage), 704 E. Columbus St. (addition to existing structure) and 1012 W. Lima St. (sign).

Kenton native honored at auto show

Jeff Brindley, a Kenton native, was honored at the Columbus Auto Show with the 2019 Automotive Achievement Award. Brindley, president of Roush Auto Group, began his career at Roush Honda in 1982. Over those 37-plus years he has received many distinguished awards, including the peer-nominated TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award, which recognizes outstanding new car dealers for exceptional performance in their dealership and distinguished community service.
