ALGER — The first meeting of the Alger council for April didn't take place when it failed to have a quorum of members at Monday’s meeting. Mayor Von Summa was absent from the session, making council president Don Hensley the acting mayor. JP Hunt and Ethan Hunt also were absent.

A Kenton Board of Zoning Appeals is set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the municipal building. The board will review the following applications: 305 Park Ave. (garage), 704 E. Columbus St. (addition to existing structure) and 1012 W. Lima St. (sign).

Jeff Brindley, a Kenton native, was honored at the Columbus Auto Show with the 2019 Automotive Achievement Award. Brindley, president of Roush Auto Group, began his career at Roush Honda in 1982.
