ADA — When a federal report identified Hardin County as being an area short of health professionals, some of the faculty at Ohio Northern University saw the news as a reason to become more involved in the community. Since then, ONU students and faculty have become more connected to health providers and visible to the public throughout the county. The school’s interest in the health needs of the community is getting national recognition as well.

Ridgemont High School will crown its 2019-20 homecoming king and queen at Friday’s football game against Elgin. There will be a parade starting at 5:30 on Wednesday in Ridgeway.

Hardin Northern sophomore Aiden Gatchell pulled away in the final 400 meters to win the Hardin County Cross County Meet on Monday afternoon at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Gatchell finished in 17:33.47 to top Upper Scioto Valley freshman Joe Parker for first place in the 30-runner field.

McGUFFEY — Kenton defeated Upper Scioto Valley 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 in a non-league volleyball match on Monday night. It was the second time in three days the Wildcats topped the Rams as they also beat them in two of three games at Ridgemont on Saturday.
