Faith Jenkins netted 17 points and had 7 rebounds and 3 assists to lead the No. 8 seeded Gophers, who kept the game close in the first half, trailing 15-11 after eight minutes and 33-29 at halftime before being shut out in the third quarter.

WAPAKONETA — Noah Eikenbary won all three of his matches to claim the 220-pound championship at the Western Buckeye League wrestling tournament on Saturday. Eikenbary, a junior who was second last year and fourth in 2017, becomes the fourth Wildcat wrestler to win a league title, joining Dylan Castle (2015), Gabe King (2009) and Chris Arnold (2009).

DOLA — Hardin Northern couldn’t keep pace with Cory-Rawson for four quarters as the Hornets pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 60-49 victory over the Polar Bears in a non-league game on Saturday night. The Hornets led 16-13 after eight minutes and 28-23 at halftime before the Polar Bears got within 38-35 after three quarters.
