MOUNT BLANCHARD — Trailing 7-2 to Ridgemont heading into the sixth inning, the Riverdale bats went off, putting up 8 on its way to a 10-7 non-conference softball win on Friday.

OTTAWA — The Kenton bats came to life in the late innings of a Western Buckeye League baseball game Friday night, with the Wildcats coming out on top 7-1. The win assures a winning WBL season for the Wildcats.

DOLA — After surrendering eight runs to New Riegel in the opening inning, Hardin Northern was unable to recover, taking the 14-3 non-conference softball loss on Friday. The Polar Bears managed three runs in the contest, all coming in the fifth inning. Picking up the RBIs were Madison Robson, Quinn Stewart-Evans and Cassidy Deckling.

JACKSON CENTER — Upper Scioto Valley finished off Jackson Center 10-1 in a non-conference softball game on Friday. Jozlynn Ross was the winning pitcher for the Lady Rams, surrendering just one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts.

McGUFFEY — For the past 27 years, Mike Risner has been on the sidelines leading either the Upper Scioto Valley girls or boys basketball teams as the programs experienced some of their most successful seasons. But after nearly 400 wins as a Ram head coach, Risner has decided it’s time to step away from the game he loves, recently announcing his retirement from coaching.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan squeezed home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Raiders topped Shawnee 6-5 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game on Thursday.

WAYNESFIELD — Tony Munafo hit a grand slam to lead the way as Ridgemont crushed Waynesfield-Goshen 22-7 in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Thursday afternoon.
