A public visitation and a private graveside memorial for Ada J. “Granny” Bowermaster will be at a later date. She will be buried in the Raymond Cemetery with her father.

Services for Clyde A. DeLong will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home in Kenton by Pastor John Watkins. Burial will be in the Fairview McDonald Cemetery where the Kenton AMVETS Post 1994 Honor Guard will conduct full military rites. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Services for Martha Jean Yale will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waynesfield Baptist Church by Pastor Don Smith. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

For the second time in three months, local law enforcement officers are being called heroes for going beyond the normal call of duty in Saturday’s shooting incident. Officer Skyler Newfer was one of two Kenton policemen who responded to a domestic situation and was wounded by a fleeing suspect.

As an avid reader who loves children, it’s safe to say Crystal McNeal has found her niche. McNeal, a Bell Center native and Kenton resident, is in her fourth month as head of youth services at the Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County District Library in Kenton, taking over last October just in time for trick-or-treat storytime.
