BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan Middle School volleyball teams swept past Bellefontaine on Wednesday night. The eighth grade Raiders won 25-5, 25-12.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys golf team split a tri-match with Bellefontaine and Tecumseh on Wednesday night. The Chieftains won the match with a team score of 161, followed by Ben Logan at 166 and Tecumseh with a 191.

Upper Scioto Valley defeated Ridgemont 192-230 in a Northwest Central Conference golf matchup at Memorial Park Golf Course on Tuesday.

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Aging is calling upon community partners to help mark Friday, Sept. 22 as National Falls Prevention Awareness Day and raise awareness of the many things our elders can do to minimize their risk of falling.

A noon meal is served for people ages 60 and older at the Hardin County Council on Aging in Kenton, 419-673-1102, at 11:30 a.m. weekdays. Transportation and meal reservations are required 24 hours in advance.

Goshen Grange met Tuesday, Aug. 22 with a program presented by Kathy Flowers, “Sweet Sorghum”. Flowers family member, Gene Greentree, remembered taking sorghum to the Yaugers on Hardin County Road 100 for processing into sorghum syrup which prompted research on the subject.
