The Hardin County Agricultural Society approved a contractor to build a new show building which members hope will be available for this year’s fair. Members met Saturday at the Hardin County Fairgrounds with fifteen directors and 14 guests present.

Concerns regarding draft horses were raised at Saturday’s meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society. Earnie Kearns said he doesn't like the idea of the draft horses being housed in the Goshen Barn, rather than a tent.

Ticket sales are looking good for the Chase Bryant concert at the Hardin County Fair. Rob Wilson, from the entertainment committee, reported at Saturday’s meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society that there are only 60 reserved seats left, although track and general admission tickets are still available.

The Hardin County Agricultural Society netted around $18,000 at its annual consignment sale, fair board member Don Spar reported at the organization’s monthly meeting on Saturday night. He said there were1,267 items sold with 291 consignors.

Rising young country music singer Chase Bryant will be the Saturday night grandstand entertainment at this year’s Hardin County Fair. Bryant, 23, from Orange Grove, Texas, has had two top 10 singles. The first was his debut single, “Take It On Back,” in early 2015. He has been in the top 10 as well with his current single, “Little Bit of You.”

The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Saturday, March 5 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds for its regular meeting. There were 17 directors present and 6 guests present. Howard Lyle, president, called the meeting to order.

The Hardin County Fair honorees for 2016 were announced at the Hardin County Agricultural Society meeting on Saturday night. Mary Lou Haley and Annetta Holmes were chosen for the recognition, announced Craig Stump from the board’s Executive Committee. They worked in the home economics department at the fair for many years before retiring after the 2015 fair.
