Marion Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford announces the theatre’s 91st season entertainment schedule, which runs July 2019 through June 2020. Included in the lineup are 8 national touring artists on the main stage, 5 local Palace Productions and Music in the May Series.

MARION — Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford announces the theatre’s 91st season will open with a local production of “The Music Man” on July 13, 14 and July 19, 20 and 21. Director, Clare Cooke will hold auditions for the production on Saturday, May 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.

BLUFFTON —Bluffton University will present “Guys and Dolls,” for the May Day musical on May 3-4 at 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall. “Guys and Dolls” depicts gambler Nathan Detroit, who is seeking cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, but both the authorities and his fiancé of 14 years are breathing down his neck. When Detroit makes a bet with a fellow gambler’s love life, this oddball romantic comedy takes us from Times Square to Cuba to the sewers of New York City.

MARION — Brothers Dylan and Zachary Zmed are set to perform a live concert covering countless Everly Brothers’ classics at the Marion Palace Theatre on Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. In 2016, the Zmed brothers, along with drummer Burleigh Drummond, began developing The Everly Brothers Experience show.

ADA – The Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra, with Antoine T. Clark as conductor, will present a concert, “Give Us This Day,” at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The program will explore concepts of origin, joy, celebration and awareness through the music of Andreas Makris, Alexander Arutiunian, John Barnes Chance, J. S. Bach and David Maslanka.

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will combine forces under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, for their annual spring concert on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. in the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, University Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will perform a selection of lighter tunes during the Spring Fling concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

BOWLING GREEN — Riverdale High School graduate Dennis Jesse will be performing in the Bowling Green Gala celebrating 100 years of the BG Philharmonia on Sunday, May 5. The concert begins at 3 p.m.

LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Friends of the Symphony will be holding their annual Young Artists’ Competition on Saturday April 27 at Yoder Recital Hall, Bluffton University. This year’s categories are brass/woodwind and piano. Piano will have a junior and senior division, while brass/woodwind will be senior only.

FOSTORIA — The Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus will present its annual barbershop show Saturday, April 27 at 4 p.m., at the Fostoria High School Performing Arts Center, 1001 Park Ave., Fostoria, Ohio. This year’s show, titled “Happy Together,” features songs in the barbershop style that celebrate falling in love and the ups and downs that go with it. It will also feature the Fostoria chapter quartets Paragon and the Mixatones, as well as the 2016 international champion quartet Forefront.
