MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre offers theatre-goers a diverse entertainment schedule this fall. This weekend, patrons will have the opportunity to attend two events.

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Opera Workshop will present an evening of opera scenes and arias at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23 in the Presser Hall Snyder Recital Hall. The scenes and arias will be staged and costumed.

ADA — Several Ohio Northern University choral groups will perform in the traditional Choral Collage concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 in the Presser Hall Snyder Recital Hall. The inaugural concert of the season will feature the Women’s Chorus, the Men’s Chorus, the University Singers and the Chamber Singers singing pieces by Mendelssohn, Thompson, Byrd, Rutter and others.

Area residents will have a chance to get their fill of food and football this evening on Kenton’s downtown square. The Buckeye Bash will feature 12 food trucks/trailers staged around the square for the tailgate portion of the festivities beginning at 5 p.m. Shortly after 8 p.m., the Ohio State-Wisconsin football game will be telecast under the stars on a jumbo screen.

MARION — Concert-goers will have the opportunity to take a fun-filled trip back to the carefree days of AM radio and see the legendary ‘60s folk-rock band, The Lovin’ Spoonful perform live at the Marion Palace Theatre on Friday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.

The Society Singers will present their 40th anniversary show, “The Times of Our Lives,” on Saturday and Sunday at the Kenton Middle School auditorium. Show times will be 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults. Students are admitted free of charge.

ADA – The Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 in the university’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Symphony Orchestra will present the concert, “Pines and Mountains,” at 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is presented by the ONU Department of Music.

ADA — The Ada High School Marching Band began its 2016 competition season by earning first place in class C (schools with less than 300 students in grades 10-12) at the Revere High School Invitational held Sept. 24 in Richfield, Ohio.

ADA — The jazz group Parker and Parker Quartet will perform a concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3 in Presser Hall’s Snyder Recital Hall at Ohio Northern University.
