Police reports: June 13, 2019 An officer responded to a report of a male running on Resch Street and shouting about a fire. The officer determined the man was Joshua P. Meekins, address unknown. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Meekins had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the Adult Parole Authority. Once Meekins was taken into custody, the officer discovered the suspect had a "badly infected” surgery incision on his right leg. The prisoner was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital and then was transferred to Marion General. Read More

One killed, another injured in single-car crash in county One person was killed and another injured in a one-vehicle accident in Hardin County early Wednesday morning. Killed was Martisol Lucila Aquirre-Murillo, according to a report from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. She was found to be deceased at the scene. Read More

R’way to begin action on overdue bills RIDGEWAY — While some Ridgeway residents have heeded the warning of the town's council and made arrangements to get their sewer bills current, other continue to play the waiting game. Mayor Kevin Howland told council at its meeting Tuesday night that some of the 150 delinquent bills have been paid, but others have not made arrangements. In April, council gave the third and final reading of the legislation which requires payment of the delinquent amounts. That ordinance had a 30-day grace period, which now has expired. Read More
