Kenton woman wraps up 34 years as baby-sitter

End of an era

Shortly after becoming a mom for the first time, Von Dixon started a business. She had left a job she loved at Imperial Cup to start a family at the home she shared with her husband, Chuck. Knowing a little extra money would help with the new expenses of a baby, Von announced she would be available to baby-sit and soon was watching two children in addition to her newborn son.

R’mont FFA success saluted

MOUNT VICTORY — The success of Ridgemont’s FFA program at the Ohio FFA Convention was saluted at the monthly school board meeting on Thursday. For the 12th year in a row, the Ridgemont FFA Chapter was selected as one of the top 10 FFA chapters in Ohio. Ridgemont’s 117-member chapter competed with 310 other chapters.

Goshen moves starting time

The Goshen Township trustees have voted to change the starting time of their regular monthly meetings for the remainder of 2019 from 6 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The meetings will continue to be held on the first Monday of each month at the township hall, 21012 CR 100.

Permit change

Washington Township trustees have revised their tile/culvert permit. Any work to be done along or across township roads must have the permit in place before work is to begin. People can contact the Washington Township fiscal officer for the application at washingtontwp33@gmail.com.

Police reports: May 24, 2019

An officer was flagged down at Kenton Village Apartments by a woman who reported her juvenile son’s bicycle had been stolen. Officers were called to 409 Waterworks Drive in reference to a fight. Upon investigation, Jody Van Hayter, 416 E. Franklin St., was issued summonses for assault and obstruction of official business, and Brittney Elaine Joseph, 398 E. Forest Road Apt. 19-B, was issued a summons for assault.
