Commissioners hope to find more room for health department through study The Kenton-Hardin County Health Department has approached the county commissioners about getting more space. Fewer people participating in nutrition assistance programs The number of participants and households in Hardin County using nutrition assistance programs has been on the decline over the past year. County households taking part in supplemental nutrition assistance programs (food stamps) in May was 1,446, which is down by 90 from a year ago and the lowest it has been since June 2010, according to numbers presented to the Hardin County Commissioners on Tuesday during an update by Job and Family Services Director Barb Maxson.
