Nelson and Jennie (Roller) Shultis of Forest are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple were united in marriage on April 26, 1958 in Findlay by the Rev. Louis Theodore.

This year’s Medication Disposal Day will offer participants a new location to rid themselves of unwanted or outdated prescription drugs. Ridgemont School, 560 W. Taylor St., Mount Victory will become a location for the event scheduled for Saturday.

The Kenton Elks Lodge honored six area high school seniors at their recent Teenager of the Month luncheon. There were no teens who applied from Hardin Northern or Ridgemont for the month of April.

Ron and Donna Dickman, of the Partnership for Violence Free Families, help other volunteers place blue pinwheels on the lawn of the Hardin County Courthouse on Wednesday. The pinwheels represent the number of child abuse calls received by Job and Family Services over the past year.

Sydney Newland had two hits and an RBI and Madisyn Gossard had a two-run double to lead Ada to a 4-0 win over Kenton in non-league softball action on Wednesday. The Bulldogs led 1-0 before plating three runs in the third inning to take control of the game.

Trent Reichelderfer tripled twice and smacked a double in the process of driving in two runs to help the Kenton Wildcats take down Hardin County foe Ada 11-1 in Wednesday’s non-league baseball contest. Also driving in two runs was Kyle Orians, who had a pair of hits. Shawn Conover also picked up an RBI.

Hardin Hills Health Center Administrator Mark Rogers was surprised by his retirement party that was thrown by staff and residents. Commissioners Roger Crowe made it out for the party as well.

The Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center held its Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on April 16 with 21 volunteers in attendance. The event included the presentation of certificates of appreciation, a make-your-own sundae bar, a grab bag auction and door prizes for each in attendance.

On April 19 the HN FFA held their annual banquet at Hardin Northern School. There were 207 members, parents, alumni members and guests present.
