MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Kenton boys and the host Riverdale girls finished first in a track quad meet the included Arcadia and Vanlue on Tuesday afternoon. In the boys meet, Riverdale won 11 events, but Kenton proved to have more depth as the Wildcats finished with 101 points to Falcons’ 91.

Kenton softball coach Bill Lawrence knows if his team is going to reach its goal of winning a WBL championship, the Wildcats will have to get through some difficult opponents. The Wildcats got through step one of the journey on Tuesday night, rallying from a two-run deficit against visiting Bath to score five unanswered runs on the way to the 5-2 victory.

Kenton won all three singles matches and split the doubles matches on the way to a 4-1 victory over Bath in Western Buckeye League tennis action Tuesday. Picking up wins for the Wildcats in singles play were Kyle Goodin, Kenji Kobayashi and Brandon Feltner.

After giving up the lead in a driving rain in the sixth inning, the Kenton Wildcats responded when it mattered, plating two runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim a 3-2 win over visiting Allen East in non-league softball action on Monday.

Shawn Conover threw a no-hitter on Monday, striking out four batters to lead Kenton to a 7-0 win over Allen East in a non-league baseball game Monday afternoon.
