Ada gets first postseason win in shootout

Celebrating a program first

ADA — Ada earned what is believed to be the first girls soccer postseason victory in program history Wednesday night, but the Bulldogs didn’t make it easy on themselves. After controlling the game for most of the 95 minutes played Monday before the game was suspended due to darkness, Ada owned the second 15-minute overtime period.

Bejerano happy for chance to compete

When Sebastian Bejerano told Hardin Northern cross country coach Chad Cook that he was planning to run cross country this fall, the Polar Bear mentor thought the senior was joking. Those thoughts quickly changed to excitement for Cook when Bejerano, who has never been allowed to participate in athletics in high school because of heart issues he was born with, told him that he was serious and that his doctors had cleared him to run.

ADA — Ada coach Melissa Gossard knew her Bulldogs would not have a an easy first-round match when they hosted Pandora-Gilboa in their sectional volleyball opener Tuesday night. And while the visiting Rockets provided the challenge Gossard expected, her Lady Bulldogs passed their first tournament test with flying colors, winning in four games 25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22.
